I see your point. I modified the weapon just for you. I will put it in the next release on 7-20-21. I hope you like it. You don't have to do this, but think about picking your pilot name and register it here. Whether you know it or not, you have become a member of the player community. I value your input.

Well, the weapon modification will need testing. In addition, the server broadcast list will also need testing in terms of capacity and so on. Other than that, I was just saying my personal opinion. I was hoping people would provide input and see how it goes. For me who says like I know something, it is only a minor ratio, compared to the effort and timing of development. Wish I could do something more.
Dark Horizons: Lore Invasion, is definitely a wonderful game, and free too. I couldn't really complain about compatibility versus optimization. There at most, be a matter of contrast between the two concepts/constructs. I said my piece right there. It ends there.
The feedback? Well, it was just my obligation to get the wheel rolling. A month of silence after a visible update wouldn't do any justice.

I don't want to be the antsy one here, but I suppose that the fix release will be on a later date? I assume that changing the Federated States plasma rifle projectile will be a pain in some instance. I understand, I used to be a modder too. All I can say is that editing sprite image files is a discipline on the opposite end of the creative/innovative spectrum. It's not programming, or at least scripting.
If the fix release needs to be published/publicated on a later date, I understand. I would register an account to get the community vibe moving, but it's almost like we are all waiting for a working broadcasting system again. I'm sorry that it is quite the letdown. I might do it in the future. I do know for a fact, you are updating a server broadcasting system for both the vanilla and skunkworks build.
---
More suggestions may include a day and night time transition (we can have permanent day and night settings too). There does not have to be a medieval sun and moon face watching the struggles in fictional life above (although I think it would be pretty cool). Adding an ufo like it was the invaders game, would be hilarious. With the cyclic/random brightness changes, I was envisioning a special forces match, where no respawns would take place. Maybe even the bots would not respawn. I know it's a bit over the top realistic simulation scenario, but I can't detract from mentioning this idea. I mean, this game is made with the Torque engine!
Special weapon suggestions: (self) repair, ammo cache, energy replenishment, and maybe EMP magnet/sonar/laser/projectile jammers to freeze, slow down, or lock up certain electronic functions (may interfere with weapon fire/change, hull integrity, energy, movement, visual interface (including camera, hud display, and targeting [especially target health reading]). EMP magnets obviously stick to the target for prolonged ailment. Computer malware weapons might be another form. I would say smoke bombs, but it would be useful without targeting.
We should have a game mode/map where heavy nuclear radiation fields can slowly erode/corrode/eat away at health. This makes the game more challenging. Not sure if nuclear reactor meltdowns or bomb detonation would be triggers to heavy nuclear radiation fields. Maybe it can be a assault goal score objective/bonus too. Magnetic (jamming) fields (maybe by some radar jamming signaling station [can be a assault goal score objective/bonus]) can attract or repel; even better, switch off target reading, may blot out activity on map too (fog of war concept). Swamps and tar in maps could slow down movement. Smoke in maps can impede detection of mav/mech angles in sight, even better without target reading. There can be oceanic maps, surely there are naval battles under the sea. Maybe, we can have underground maps too!
I was wondering if there would be maps/campaigns that would allow more than the Eastern Confederation and Federated States team? Let us say that the Federated States is a shaky alliance, just like almost a real thing. If it breaks up, a neo-Central/Axis inspired group may rise up and things like that. It is just a speculation. I wouldn't want such inspiration to be realized. It probably be better off as a (proxy war) stand off.

Color of the new mavs/mechs/weapons seem to be a bit off from the original mavs/mechs. Might need some visual polishing. I sort of miss the original tank classes, but I understand the need for hover tanks as a means of proactive deployment.
I haven't tested too much of the new mav/mech class, but I am trying to find what is their specific role. Artillery?

Yup they are not the same. Let me tell you why. The original MAV's were made by MaxGaming using proffesional and expensive software by people who make 3d characters for a living. The textures were applied by UV unwrapping the MAV, which makes it 2 dimensional image(flat) instead of 3 dimensional, then the image is painted on and Rewrapped into 3d. The new MAV's were made by me using a program called "Milkshape" for 25 bucks. It doesn't do UV unwrapping, and frankly UV unwrapping is very difficult even for experienced character designers. Please keep in mind that I do this as a hobby and have had to spend countless hours over the past 15 years self learning how to make a character, how to make a weapon, How to make a projectile with effects, how to read and write torque script then get it to do what I want. The list goes on and on. Way back in 2007, I had a mod team of people with different talents. Now I am a team of one. I welcome anyone to come and help if they can do a better job. I will even give them the character design files. Until that day, this is as good as it's gonna get.

A release is forthcoming. I want to finish updating the tech room in multiplayer before I put it out. I should have the Skunkworks version by this weekend and the updates added to the original version some time next week. I will post when that is complete. As for your other suggestions, They are very good, and I actually have thought of many of the items on your list. Certainly some of them will show up in future releases. Thanks for the input!

Hey, I'm not going to push you to do this and that. I know better that the project development by the main team has been abandoned. This and it is a Torque game engine. The somehow controversial America's Army recruitment game is also made with the Torque engine. Given that serious gaming simulation is taken up by the military force, could be a certain weight in a resume. Even without military involvement, the Torque engine still serves as a tool for educational technology (or at least its developer has intended). I think with such credentials on board, it could mean a lot of research potential, if not practicality. It is no walk in the park either! If the client of such a magnitude, are looking in demand, it could be quite the bill to pay off. Time and effort required!
I did have an assumption that game developers were not always game developers, at least initially. Maybe, they aspire to be candidates of a higher role, but didn't meet the caliber of qualification. "Sir yes sir" and stuff like that, you know. The pedigree could have potential unknown to the public. We would never know of what minds and hearts are capable of. Just look at Electronic Arts's Seal Team; it doesn't sport the excellent graphics or military contract (or maybe it does), but its design matches well with the complex gameplay. For a game developer, it sure was quite a serious gaming simulation. It was supposed to be the new action tactics simulation over the overabundance of published war game strategy simulations. Before, tactics are experienced in drills and the real deal. But man, the game say tactics? I say it's both tactics and strategy! You have to manage your team, support fire, ammunition supply (I cheated with unlimited rounds), and environment. It was quite like chess, but pretty engaging. I played until the game gotten too hard or soft crashed on me. Lost experienced men that way. I suppose that I had to balance the roster for each mission briefing.
What I just said about high tier development, should be a point of interest. The team you had, have split up for different reasons. Maybe, it is not their current goal in the simulation market. If they just left because of a project shutdown, I hope they retain the lessons taught. If it is still a good game (as a fact), no doubt that it will be a gem regardless of obscurity. There's change, and then, there's good. There's hardly inclusive change and good. I hope that the team comes back. I can't say about reasons for leaving. Maybe they pop back up like popupine when nearly all functions of the game breathes life?
For something that's free, I shouldn't complain. You get what you pay for, no more, no less. I don't really mind the visuals, it's something I can live (or cope) with. Visuals is just a segment compared to gameplay. If given the chance, maybe that software can be available somehow? Even then, the system specifications may require a machine equipped to deal with heavy usage of graphics. That, and testing on consumer client low-end computers for compatibility to the market. Sounds like a lot of work!
---
I know you are looking for feedback on the additions and it's probably annoying not to have any just yet. I'm just going to say for the obvious, the hover tanks are quite the improvement in terms of mobility. Are they faster than the scout classes? Maybe they should move/hover in a tank-like manner? Are they supposed to be faster? Maybe the weapon fire would affect its mobility? It will depend on firepower. I can't say for the new weapons loadout. Couldn't remember much just yet. That's it for now.

Take your time, sometimes, a little care goes a long way. It's just like the tortoise and the hare fable story. I read that modders have lost much progress due to some computer failure. I happened to suffer the same fate during my early project attempts. "Woe is me!", I said. You know, hands clasped over my face. Over dramatic, I know.
Have you ever thought of team orientation on the bot AI? It's asking for too much, but a priority on whether a bot team to concentrate fire on a target would be interesting.

Just wanted to let you and everyone else know Noob, I placed your comments and my replies in this new thread, so it may look a bit out of order. The other threads were for completely different topics so it was looking a bit untidy. I didn't make a thread for mod suggestions, so my bad. Just to update you on a few of the things you suggested, the plasma cannon is upgraded and will be in the release this weekend. There are two ideas you mentioned which I will pursue next. I will try to do a mission with radiation zones which cause damage as soon as I can script a well working trigger to do that. I will also investigate and if successful, apply a special weapon(more of a special capability) to repair other teammates with a beam or perhaps dropping a health kit. Probably put it on the Scouts as the mines have always been sort of lame.

Hello everbody, anybody there? Anyways, hello. Sorry about the tight coupling. I guess you can put a variety of values for a proposed 'special weapons' options label, if possible. I was thinking to save the mines from obscurity. Maybe (heat/electric detecting) hover (stun/explosive radius) mines (detection to activate after initialization delay), (sparkly) stationary (hover) flares (partial cover lasts for a while), and EMP jammer devices/projectiles whose field/radius interfere with mav/mech functions (e.g. slows down movement, drains health or energy).

If you need help funding the broadcasting service, maybe you can tell people about it just in case. Maybe you can setup a online transfer service can people will pitch in or something like that. The company required a ignition key, but I am not sure if it is a annual contract. Nevertheless, I remembered I could play a few classes for free!
That being said, I know that the next broadcasting service will run into issues such as this. Thought I should let you know beforehand.

It's been tried in the past. I think you can see that there is not enough interest in the game for an organised funding effeort since you and I are the only ones talking here. Just a heads up, I had to turn on registration to make comments and threads. There were some inaproppriate posts made last night, so I had to up security. it's not you. There are some malicious elements out there that just can't help but spoil it for everyone.

I wonder why there is no interest? I mean, I'm sure there were games about the Cold War and other United Nations stuff like that. I guess people may want to move on after the (proxy?) war (supposedly) ended. It might be too traumatic for some. Or, it wasn't/isn't really a popular topic to some or overall.
I'm going to pout out my suspicion about there's always some group that still have this Cold War paradox going on. And I'm not talking about Allies-NATO either. It wouldn't benefit them to engage with the United Nation as well. The Cold War was/is on a global scale, and sometimes, it was/is a sensitive topic. Sometimes, you just can't avoid certain discrepancies. Let us acknowledge this fact for sure. That out of the way, I bet those moonies (a Nazi variant [check out the flag/emblem sometimes]) didn't like how some narratives detracts from their programme. Such a desperate agenda of a crazy usurpation cult will do all means to subjugate all voices of the United Nations. It's like a war of infiltration, front groups, subversion, and propaganda, rather than belligerency.
Anywhom, it's a game of chess. Maybe to devastating proportions. Blah, blah, blah, you know what I mean? So, I'm going to promote the upcoming access of the next release. I'm going to put a fandom context on the title parameters. Website in the url parameter, to avoid illegal solicitation.

Did I say too much? Regardless of moral mores, it's human nature at play, what can I say?
Anyways, I don't want to be an annoyance, but I thought to pick up on cue on whether the next release has been uploaded for access. I admit that the broadcast would be quite dedicated, so hence the hesitation. Maybe a IRC gathering for a broadcast or server is more feasible at this time. Will be looking for a reply at the board or IRC.

I decided to hold up on the release. I am making certain enhancements and making a new MAV to replace the EC Locust. I will let you know when I am done.
