I thought I should explain why I eliminated the tanks and pulled the EC Predator for the Skunkworks release of Lore. Before I start, Let me just say I wouldn't take anything out if i didn't have to. I would have loved to keep it all in and just added the other stuff to it. With that said I will start with the Pedator. I love this MAV, but I used to call it the canary in the cole mine because whenever I would create a new weapon, this was the only MAV that wouldn't like it and throw a weapon mount error. With heavy heart I eliminated it (after only 15 years!). As far as the tanks go, I wanted to add the light hover tanks. I had already added one extra completely new MAV class, the heavy assaults, and the game just couldn't handle six MAV types. One had to go. The tanks were the least used, so that's why they are gone. Sucks for me, because I wasted a ton of time making weapons for them. You can of course still play them in the original version. Now you know.

Well, it happens. When I tried to map 2.5d sectors for a certain game, I had to limit on what I could produce. For instance, making a building (interior only) with stairs, will steadily cost the computer processing power. With stairs, there was so many fill and space sectors stacked on one another. The processing would fare better off with ramps. I ended up with making texture lines as steps of stairs. Processing power got balanced! I hope I could make texture lines as ramps. It could further simplify the process. There are other problems with interacting with. If I wanted to add in walls, blocks, or specifics in/with the space sector, it's going to be its own subgroup dependent on that exact space sector. Same goes in vice versa for adding in space in/with a fill sector. For actor object spawner classes, each x, y, and z coordinate, must be placed carefully. It is obvious to see that I get nitpicky about mapping. It's not object per se, but there are all types of obstacles along the way.

Back on topic.
I assume that those classes could be a factor of (popular) appeal? Yeah, I guess so. The predator was definitely tanking, but it is definitely heavy/slow and its flamethrower special weapon can be quite limited. For the tanks, I really like the heavy fire power and sentry turrets. The turrets are very very funny. What I hate about them is that they are very very restricted in the matter of strict wheel movement. The camera movement might as well be restricted in terms of viewing the sides. You see a large wheel/thread frame blocking the sight of the scenery. You might even injure yourself if you shoot the frame!
For new changes, I see that the game couldn't handle various types? It's a shame, since there are plenty of robots variations in the said BattleMechs (or its precursors) narrative. You can't use the Predator? Why not try recreating it to that popular compatible format? I wouldn't mind! Hover tanks? I like them! Sometimes, speed is of essence. Getting the firepower out of rough landscapes is a positive! Even better to avoid land mines! Imagine if the game tanks can flip over? That would be the worst scenario ever. Some people can complain about BattleMechs losing its giant slow robot monster status. The hovering capability is not exactly fast and I'm sure that BattleMechs can have jetpacks in some robots. If you can a lot of weapons left over, why not add them to the primary, secondary, and/or special weapons selection?
That said, I must admit that you got the gusto in continuing on in this project. Me? I have to mind about certain things before I go on. It's like settling in and trying to go stable. And I'm not talking about trying to make a living stable! Even then, I get feedbacks on not following the modding standard. Modding standard? Wasn't modding supposed to be a method of experimentation? A lamp of learning? I thought I was in the dark ages! I could gush on about the matter of luxury in living/quality/liberty. Anyways, this is supposedly an abandoned company project. I guess you can say its appeal will depend on its next broadcast plus features? Who knows? The progress towards living/quality/liberty continues!

Remembered I made an account here so don't need to post as "Agua". I'll always have a soft spot for the original stuff, but the new MAVs are cool too! The hover tank reminds me of a drone lol (although they're all technically drones in a way, right?). Thanks for your work Sling.
